The fitness revolution in Canada

About us

Smooth Pursuit is Northern British Columbia's main entity for performance vision training.

We offer a variety of programs and strategies aimed at improving athletic performance by optimizing the vision-brain-body connection.

This includes training aspects of performance like reaction time, eye-hand and eye-foot coordination, peripheral awareness, and much more.

what is Sports vision training?

Sports Vision Training focuses on optimizing the visual system to improve athletic performance, reduce injury occurrence, and aid in rehabilitation. Similar to strength and conditioning for your musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, vision training (sports or otherwise) focuses on affecting performance by optimizing your neuro-visual system. This includes focusing on things like reaction time, peripheral awareness, object tracking, quick decision making, and much more!

While the term "sports vision" makes it seem like this training is just for elite athletes, this is far from true! Multiple studies have found benefits of vision training far beyond the sports arena, including in falls prevention and cognition in older adults.

Check out our tech:

We are proud to offer training through a combination of traditional vision therapy techniques as well as through new and advanced technology. By using a combination of old and new techniques, our athletes get the benefits of the "tried and true" approach, while also getting exposure to the newest strategies in the field.

strobe glasses

Strobe glasses have traditionally been popularized in basketball, but have applicability to many sports. Strobe glasses momentarily restrict visual field and can be used to optimized eye-hand, as well as eye-brain, connectivity.

neurotracker x

NeuroTracker X is our newest technology. It enables athletes to train their ability to track multiple objects at once. This translates especially well to sports that require lots of attention to what is going on around you, like boxing and soccer.

traditional vision therapy

Traditional vision therapy has been used by optometrists for many years and includes strategies and exercises to help your eyes work better together.
